Project Details

This project redefines the clinical environment through a soft, sensory-conscious design language tailored for an autistic care setting. The spatial concept is guided by fluid geometry and a calming chromatic palette pastel gradient of lavender, blush, and muted blue carefully selected to reduce overstimulation while maintaining visual warmth. Curved walls soften transitions and eliminate harsh edges, creating a continuous, intuitive flow throughout the corridors. The lighting strategy combines diffused linear fixtures with indirect ambient illumination, minimizing glare and shadow contrasts, while exposed technical elements are integrated with precision to retain a contemporary, honest aesthetic.

Materiality plays a central role in shaping both comfort and durability. Terrazzo flooring provides a seamless, non-intrusive texture underfoot, balancing visual interest with acoustic practicality. Natural wood elements introduce familiarity and warmth, particularly in the children’s therapy and play rooms, where modular shelving and tactile surfaces encourage interaction and exploration. Soft upholstered seating, integrated greenery, and carefully scaled furniture reinforce a sense of safety and human-centered design. The overall atmosphere is structured, and reassuring an environment that supports focus, emotional regulation, and well-being, while subtly elevating the identity of a modern therapeutic space
